Creative Boom featured Yinka Ilori’s work for Tottenham Hotspur on 4 November. We’re interested in the graphic surface itself: a shirt lives on a moving person, rather than a perfectly flat slide.

That changes the questions a composition faces. What remains legible at a distance? What happens at a fold? Does its character survive dozens of copies appearing together? These are design questions, not performance claims about this particular garment.

Try taking your own layout beyond the presentation. An empty background is easy to negotiate with. Out in the world, a jacket, a backpack and someone who never intended to stand still join the discussion. They all get a vote.
